The
city of Dana Point is named after Richard Henry Dana, Jr. (1815-1882), a
Harvard-trained lawyer, seaman and author of the classic sea journal entitled
"Two Years Before the Mast" (1840).
Dana Point has nearly seven miles of prominent coastal bluffs and rolling hills overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Dana Point Harbor provides slips and mooring for 2500 boats along with over 50 speciality shops and restaurants.

Our vacation rental is located adjacent to "The Headlands" and is directly across the street from public beach access to the private and secluded "Strands Beach." Access to the beach is via stairs in the county park. You'll enjoy the smell of sea air and the ocean breeze with nothing between you and the ocean except eucalyptus and palm trees.
